I studien studerade man en grupp \u00e4ldre personer som regelbundet motionerade och en grupp som inte motionerade alls. Det visade sig att hj\u00e4rnans storlek minskade hos de personer som inte tr\u00e4nade, att de fick s\u00e4mre minnesf\u00f6rm\u00e5ga, s\u00e4mre kognitiv f\u00f6rm\u00e5ga och en \u00f6kad risk att drabbas av demenssjukdomar.<\/p>\n<p>Unders\u00f6kningarna gjordes med MRI skanning, man noterade hur fysiskt aktiva deltagarna i studien var och man noterade \u00e4ven med om personerna sysslade med n\u00e5gon form av mentalt stimulerande aktiviteter, som tex l\u00e4sning, suduko\/korsord. Unders\u00f6kningen visade att det inte r\u00e4ckte med att vara mentalt stimulerad, utan regelbunden motion var enda s\u00e4ttet att bibeh\u00e5lla storleken p\u00e5 sin hj\u00e4rnan och f\u00f6rebygga \u00e5ldersrelaterade sjukdomar.<\/p>\n<p>Hur mycket beh\u00f6ver man tr\u00e4na f\u00f6r att hj\u00e4rnan ska beh\u00e5llas frisk och minnet p\u00e5 topp d\u00e5? Jo enligt forskarna s\u00e5 r\u00e4cker det med en promenad p\u00e5 n\u00e5gon kilometer per dag, vilket kanske k\u00e4nns lite LITE??
